East Alabama Mental Health Award Winners

East Alabama Mental Health Center employs winning staff members and we have the awards to prove it.  So far this year the following staff members have won awards:

Arthur Richardson, Mental Health Technician, Lee County Adult Day Services, won a RESPECT award at the 2009 Consumer Conference at Shocco Springs.  This prestigious award is nominated by consumers who believe the nominee has shown particular respect for those with mental illnesses.

Christina Parker, Program Director, Second Street SCLH/Chambers County Group Home, won the Intellectual Disabilites (Mental Retardation) Professional of the Year award at the Alabama Council of Community Mental Health Boards Annual Meeting, May, 2009. This statewide award is given to only one staff member per year who exemplifies excellence in the profession.

Jean Spicer, Director, Family and Children’s Services, won the Embrace Family Award for work with Youth at the Alabama Family Ties Conference in May, 2009.  Ms. Spicer won for her work with youth during the previous conference years as well as her career of service to youth and their families.

Jacqueline Burgess, ACT Therapist, won the Outstanding Master’s Student Award from Iota Delta Sigma, the Auburn Chapter of the International Honor Society for Counseling Students.  This award was presented on April 17, 2009 recognizing her outstanding performance in her higher education curriculum.
